Esther and I just got back from a little bike ride. Mom and Chris are sick with a cold that's been going around. You would think a normal little bike ride wouldn't be all that exciting, but this one was. Mom gave us the cellphone, just in case. Esther and I were just coming to our turn-around point when Esther suddenly pulled to a stop beside the road. I stopped to thinking she might be hurt, but no, she couldn't find the cellphone! She was sure she had put it in her right jacket pocket, but it wasn't there anymore! Esther wondered if we should go back and look for it, but after a moments thought, I decided to finish the short distance to the bridge, were we'd turn around. Oh God, I prayed silently, Help us find the phone. I knew Esther must be praying too. We reached the bridge, turned around, and kept our eyes peeled for any shiny black square we could find at the side of the road. We were not far in our return when a burgundy truck stopped just ahead of us. I felt a little tense. You can never know what to expect when a random truck stops in front of you. As we were passing, the driver rolled down his window. He was a bald man with a large tattoo down his arm. Holding out something to us he asked,
"Did you loss a phone?"
"Yes! Thank you!" a flood of relief washed over me as I took the phone from his hand. Was he an angel?
"I found it laying on the side of the road. I saw you guys coming this way, and I thought it might belong to you." He said.
Thank you God! I thought to myself This was totally you working. It's just a little example of how God works, but I learned in a more intimate way that God really does answer prayers!
